I just listen to the music, and the music that was put out from that Band still sounds good. MOST of the Music listed here is tired and outdated. Thats what I judge it on

If this were the rubberroom I would call you a clueless fuckstick, but it isnt so I will just say you have a right to your personal opinion. You are correct about one thing, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray, Pantera, ect are all very tired and outdated bands, Nirvana on the other hand.....

P.S. I am a Nirvana fan but not because Kurt was a great guitarist

It is a list of great guitarist man, you must be confused with one of his other great attributes( possibly his accuracy with a shotguns and heroin needles)

Does that make you feel better to dig into a tragedy like that ?

Not so so sure why I am clueless , Seems like the list that was put out had him pretty high too. I didn't have anything to do with the list either. Majority of people would never give him his due just because of the way things ended.

Most people do give him his due, but as a songwriter not a guitarist. I love Nirvana and listen to it all the time and always play at least one Nirvana tune if I have the guitar in my hands for more than 15 minutes but this thread is titled "100 Greatist Guitarist" not the "100 Most Influential Guitarist" the latter would have him placed pretty high but the former should not even mention him.

I guess we all have opinions. The fact that you have Whormoan as part of your Avatar means we would be most likely be arguing this into next week. Not going to do it

I can see where people would have this opinion. How I look at the rankings: When I hear a song like Journey to the Center of the Mind, by Nugent, I try to compare to other music of his era. That is a very cutting-edge song for its time.

One thing about Cobain - I think he is a very overrated guitarist. He is very influential in the grunge-style and his song writing ability. Their overall sound is undeniable, but none of his guitar playing is that memorable, to me anyway.

time to turn in the man card here

A Florida man blaring a Mariah Carey song from his car stereo was arrested Saturday night after throwing a bottle at someone who didn't share his passion for the song. The Mariah-lover, Zachary Alan Schreiber of Golden Gate, FL, was stopped at a light when Mariah-hater William Greenman pulled up and called Schreiber 'a derogatory name' for listening to that song. Profanities flew back and forth between Schreiber and Greenman, who was a passenger in the other vehicle, as the cars traveled on. When they again stopped the war of words escalated. Deputies say the Mariah fan hurled a beer bottle at Greenman. Greenman ducked, but deputies say the bottle hit the car's driver. Schreiber is charged with shooting a missile into a vehicle and criminal mischief.

I would do the same thing if someone laughed at my Simon and Garfunkle collection.
